Site Remediation
Site Remediation Process and Regulations with REMEDI TEC
Introduction to Site Remediation in New Jersey
In New Jersey, site remediation is carefully overseen by the Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). REMEDI TEC is well-versed in adhering to the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR), which are the regulations dictating how the remediation process operates for contaminated sites in the state.

Licensed Remediation Site Professional (LSRP) Certification

REMEDI TEC is certified as a Licensed Remediation Site Professional (LSRP) through the NJDEP Site Remediation Program (SRP). This certification allows us to operate efficiently within the state’s remediation framework, as LSRPs play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing site cleanups. LSRPs adhere to strict guidelines established by NJDEP to ensure environmental and public health protection.

Preliminary Assessments

Preliminary assessments are the initial phase of site remediation. REMEDI TEC conducts thorough preliminary assessments to gather comprehensive data about the site, including its historical usage, current activities, and surrounding environment. By analyzing property records, visiting the site, and reviewing existing information, we lay the foundation for the remediation process.

Site Investigations (SI)

Site investigations involve collecting and analyzing samples of site materials such as soil, bedrock, and groundwater. REMEDI TEC utilizes various sampling and monitoring techniques, including groundwater monitor wells and direct push technologies, to determine the presence and extent of contaminants. This crucial step guides subsequent remediation efforts.

Remedial Investigations (RI)

Remedial investigations further characterize the contamination identified during site investigations. REMEDI TEC conducts comprehensive remedial investigations to assess the type and scope of contamination, considering factors such as feasibility, cost, and effectiveness of proposed remedial actions. This informs the development of tailored remediation strategies.

Remedial Action (RA) and Response Action Outcome (RAO)

Following remedial investigations, REMEDI TEC implements remedial actions, commonly known as site cleanup, to mitigate contamination. Once cleanup is complete, we issue a Response Action Outcome (RAO) document to demonstrate compliance with NJDEP regulations, confirming that the site meets environmental standards.
By following these systematic steps and adhering to NJDEP regulations, REMEDI TEC ensures effective site remediation while safeguarding public health and the environment.
